Well hello! I'm Dr. Rachel Sparke. I'm owner of Roseland Animal Hospital and I'm the person responsible for making posts on this blog as well as our Facebook page. My intention is to help keep veterinary medicine accessible to all and incorporate our community in to our hospital. I want us to be THE source for recommendations and education. I welcome suggestions!
Today I want to talk about a "typical" day here. We will see on average ~50 animals per day. Now, not all of them require the attention of our veterinarians, but most do!. Some pets are scheduled with our groomer, they are here for a bath, maybe they are entering or leaving boarding, or perhaps one of our RVTs is performing a service. But all these animals have the possibility of questions involving the DVM. For example: "Do they continue the same dose of medication?", "When do they need to return for their next check-up?", "How long do you think it will take you to perform that operation?". A lot of pets entering for bathing and/or grooming services have issues that our team discover and the client would like for our veterinary team to address. And we will get it done. But you know what, we still have those pets scheduled for examinations, lab results that need interpretation and phone calls to clients to review, and then those unexpected phone calls - "my pet ate chocolate - what do I do?".
Please know that everyone here at Roseland Animal Hospital wants to help everyone immediately. Sometimes we can, sometimes we need to call you back. We ask for your patience. We will always take care of you. Usually immediately. If we ask for a few moments to gather our actions and thoughts understand it is in the best interest of the community. We LOVE taking care of animals, and therefore we get to do a lot of it. {that makes me happier than most will ever know}
Take a peek at that picture again, it's a disaster! That's okay, it was my "hope to do" pile, but you know what, my "got to do" list - it was better!!!!! :)
Thanks to everyone that helps us improve by sharing their thoughts and comments on our service and delivery. We really want to be the BEST we can be.
Sincerely,
Dr. Sparke
